Maggie lays on a pink quilt that is draped over the back of an antique high chair
Maggie helps my mother get the wrinkles out of the quilt by laying on it.
Cats on quilts make for a "purr-fect" combo. . . .if you're a cat lover!!
We often tell our three cats that we don't want them on our quilts, but they don't listen. We gave up telling them because they just keep getting up on the quilts. Instead, we just take pictures of them.
What's in the bag?!
My mother brought home a couple bags of battening and Jeannie was curious about the bags' contents.
"Maggie in the box" came out of the sewing box
Maggie loves to sit on boxes including my mother's Sewing Box. The one thing she loves to do is sharpen her claws on the box. That drives my mom insane!!
Bubbles and battening make for a combination
Binx Thackery was going to play in the bags of battening, but something threw him off course. . . . bubbles!!
The Princess' bed (I wonder if there is a pea underneath?!)
Jeannie is my mom's "special helper." She oversees the cutting and makes sure that there is enough to make squares. Sometimes, I'll tell her that I'm going to make a quilt out of her. Boy, did I get a dirty look!!
"They call me mellow yellow"
Maggie lays on a couple of quilts that my mom made for a couple of teachers at her school.
"When the owner's away, the cat will play"
Maggie walks all over my mom's "Prairie Star" quilt, when she wasn't looking.
A "star" will shine
My mom lays out her pieces on the floor to try to get a sense of how she wants the quilt to look. Maggie Rose got on top of the quilt and my mom worried that she would mess it up, but Maggie just sat there.
Welcome to Cats On Quilts
These are a collection of photos that I have taken of my cats; lying on quilts that both my mother and I have made. Our cats are very helpful when it comes to the process of quilting. Our Calico, Jeannie Joy, loves to lie on the fabric when we are in the process of cutting out squares. Don't worry: she hasn't been cut. . . .yet!! There are times when I'll pretend to measure her and she how much of her I could make into a quilt.
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and was adopted because I am half Korea. I am a cat lover and I love watching movies. I'm also in the midst of writing plays. When I'm not writing, I'm either dancing or working in Theater. I recently met Lance Romero on Singlesnet on November 24, 2008. We have since become engaged and are planning to get married sometime next year.
